Whether you’re looking to save an image of your entire screen or just a specific portion, we’ve got you covered. We’ll also show you some advanced techniques for editing and sharing your screenshots. So, let’s get started!

There are several ways to take a screenshot on a Windows PC. Here are 5 methods to capture your full screen or just one window or area:

  • Go to the screen you want to capture.
  • Locate the “Print Screen” key on your keyboard, usually found in the upper-right side of the main keyboard.
  • Press the Windows key and the Print Screen key at the same time. This will take a screenshot of the current screen.
  • The screenshot will be saved in the “Screenshots” folder inside the “Pictures” folder, labeled “Screenshot (number)” based on the order it was taken.

Method 2: Taking a Full-Screen Screenshot on Any Windows Computer

  • Go to the screen you want to capture.
  • Press the Print Screen key, typically found in the upper-right side of the keyboard. This will take a picture of the entire screen’s contents.
  • Open Paint program and press Ctrl+V to paste the screenshot.
  • Press Ctrl+S to save the screenshot and give it a name, select a save folder, and click save. You can change the file type by clicking the “Save as type” drop-down box.

Method 3: Taking a One-Window Screenshot

  • Click the window you want to capture.
  • Hold down Alt and press Print Screen. This will take a picture of the active window and copy it to the clipboard.
  • Open Paint and press Ctrl+V to paste the screenshot.
  • Press Ctrl+S to save the screenshot and give it a name, select a save folder, and click save.

Method 4: Using the Snipping Tool

  • Open the Snipping Tool from the Start menu or by searching for it.
  • Select the type of snip you want to make (rectangular, free-form, window, or full-screen).
  • Select the area you want to capture.
  • Save or share the screenshot as desired.

Method 5: Using the Game Bar (Windows 10 Only)

  • Press the Windows key + G to open the Game Bar while in a game.
